Department of Industrial Engineering (DIEF) - Advancing Motorcycle Safety: Integrating the expertise of the Mobility and vehicle innovation group (MOVING) in Active and Passive Systems
This Ph.D. research project aims to enhance motorcycle safety by leveraging the extensive expertise of the MOVING group, which has dedicated fifteen years to the development of active and passive safety systems for powered two-wheelers. Focusing on vehicle maneuverability, driver characterization, emergency maneuver execution, and the implementation of safety systems such as ABS, the study will delve into critical aspects of motorcycle safety. The MOVING group's background in vehicle dynamics, accident analysis, countermeasure evaluation, driving simulation, on-road testing, and controlled environment assessments, coupled with a commitment to research ethics for the involvement of human subjects, forms a robust foundation for addressing these pivotal issues. This project aligns seamlessly with MOVING’s commitment to advancing motorcycle safety through comprehensive research and practical solutions.
Experience with one of the aforementioned research approaches of the MOVING is recommended.
