PhD programme in Industrial Engineering - Biomechanical Engineering - Computational Biomechanics

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

    PhD sandwich; Post Doc

Department

Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering - School of Engineering

Main research activities/topics/projects

The research will be focused on the application of musculoskeletal models in Opensim for improving joint reaction forces (JRF) estimation. Available models will be considered, eventually modified, and the effect of uncertainties of different quantities on JRF analysed. Ideal mechanical joints and deformable ones will be considered. Possibly, API scripts will be developed for estimating wear in joint replacement from Opensim data.

Special entry requirements

Experience with Opensim will represent a preferential element

Duration in months (min-max)

PhD sandwich: 10-12
Post Doc: 12-24
