Main research activities/topics/projects

Key areas of investigation include developing novel materials through processes like laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF), electron beam powder bed fusion (EB-PBF), and directed energy deposition (DED). Researchers are also exploring the creation of new metallic alloys and metal matrix composites using these AM techniques. To understand the impact of AM processes on material properties, studies are conducted to analyze the relationship between process parameters, microstructure, and resulting properties. Additionally, research efforts are dedicated to optimizing surface post-treatment techniques for AM-produced parts and simulating the microstructure of these components to predict their performance.
