Main research activities/topics/projects

Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) involves the use of three models (environmental life cycle assessment (LCA), life cycle costing (LCC), and a social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) to tackle sustainability issues in the building area from a life cycle perspective. More specifically, the focus will be on the application of LCALCA and S-LCA in low-energy buildings with the aim of analyzing the relationship between embodied and operational impacts throughout the Whole Life Cycle. The main areas of research focus are:

1. Incorporating LCA and LCC into the principal Green Building Rating Systems.

2.Definition of a LCA benchmark for low-energy buildings.

3.Pointed out an LCSA model for an Italian case study.
