Main research activities/topics/projects

The work will be devoted to the implementation in cloud platforms of processing algorithms for the analysis of data from satellites or airborne platforms for the characterization of physical phenomena, especially in urban areas. 

The work will aim at the definition of methodologies to extract information from data sets of different nature, as well as spectral and spatial resolution.

Work on existing procedure under the supervision of a PhD student is forecasted for Master students, using and testing algorithms designed and developed by PhD students. For PhD students, the actual focus of the work will depend on the status of existing projects, but mainly for applications of urban remote sensing or environmental monitoring of natural resources. Postdoc researchers are actually looked after for specific processing tasks related to running projects. At the moment this is about statistical processing of sequences of SAR images, and semantic segmentation using Deep Learning of long SAR sequences.
