Main research activities/topics/projects

The increasing integration of electric vehicles (EVs) into the energy grid presents new challenges and opportunities for optimizing energy use in urban environments. This research proposes the development of a comprehensive Energy Management System (EMS) designed for energy hubs that integrate Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) with traction substations and heavy duty vehicles. The goal is to efficiently manage the energy flow between various components, including EVCS, traction power, renewable energy sources, and grid storage systems, while minimizing energy costs and enhancing sustainability.
