Main research activities/topics/projects

• Design and optimization of bulk and sheet metal forming processes, with specific focus on formability and tribology at elevated temperature
• Design and optimization of additive manufacturing-based process chain, including post-AM operations (e.g. electropolishing), with specific focus on the correlation between the process parameters and the part performance during its service life (e.g. wear, corrosion, fatigue,..)
• Design and implementation of environmentally friendly cutting fluids (e.g. cryogenic coolants) in machining operations
• Evaluation of the surface integrity and service life performance of difficult-to-cut materials (e.g. metal matrix composites, Nitinol, fiber metal laminates,..)
