Main research activities/topics/projects

The prospective candidates will be integrated into the research activities of the hosting research group, with a specific focus on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and related areas. Their work will be primarily connected to the ongoing research project HBridgeIM, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), which provides the main scientific and methodological framework. The project focuses on the development of advanced approaches for the monitoring, assessment, and preservation of civil engineering structures, with particular emphasis on existing and aging infrastructures of strategic or historical relevance.

Within this context, candidates may contribute to research topics such as structural response analysis, damage detection and characterization, system identification, model updating, and data-driven methodologies for structural assessment and lifecycle management.

While the activities will be aligned with the objectives of the HBridgeIM project, candidates will also have the opportunity to further develop and extend these research lines, potentially contributing to their continuation beyond the project’s duration.
