Bioengineering/Quantitative movement analysis in the clinical-rehabilitative field

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

    PhD sandwich; Post Doc

Department

Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), Politecnico of Milan

Main research activities/topics/projects

The research activity will be in the field of the quantitative evaluation of posture and human movement, particularly regarding the clinical-rehabilitative application. The activity will be mainly focused on the definition and implementation of experimental set-ups for the evaluation of specific and significant motor tasks to quantify the functional limitation in different pathological conditions and the effects of rehabilitative treatments, through the integrated multifactorial 3D quantitative analysis of the movement. The research activity will be also related to data processing and analysis methods (using both traditional and innovative methods) and to the identification of specific and summary parameters for the characterization of movement limitation. Specifically, this activity is carried out using both the instrumentation and the technologies present in a traditional movement analysis laboratory (optoelectronic systems, force platforms, surface electromyographs) and wearable systems (inertial measurement units), in collaboration with clinical institutes.
