The new issue of Revista General de Derecho Público Comparado (No. 35, 2024) features a monographic section curated by Silvia Bagni, coordinator of the LUMEN project for the UNIBO research unit, titled "El derecho constitucional cubano en el prisma del constitucionalismo latinoamericano: Retos de la comparación jurídica." Bagni’s introduction explores the challenges and opportunities of comparing Cuban constitutional law within the broader Latin American context, analyzing the methods and approaches to legal comparison.
The issue also includes a contribution by Rachele Cecchi, a member of the UNIFI research unit, titled "Decolonizing (Comparative) Constitutional Law: a pragmatic approach." The article addresses an increasingly central issue in legal studies: is it possible to decolonize comparative law, particularly comparative constitutional law? And what does it practically mean to do so? Cecchi reconstructs the academic debate on the decolonization of comparative legal studies, analyzing key reflections and challenges within the discipline.
The issue also features many other interesting contributions that explore Cuban constitutionalism from a comparative perspective and the boundaries of legal comparison, concluding with additional thematic essays, debates, and reviews.
