Environment and Land Conflicts in Northern Finland: a Sámi Perspective

On Wednesday, November 26, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., a new session of the #EVE seminar series will take place — in hybrid format, both online and in person — focusing on environmental issues and land conflicts in Northern Finland.

The event will feature Mikko Jokinen, senior scientist at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE), who will explore environmental conflict dynamics and Sámi perspectives on land and natural resource use.

This conversation will offer valuable insights, highlighting how tensions between conservation, economic development, and traditional understandings of land value continue to emerge across many regions worldwide.
