Applications are now open for the twelfth edition of the Summer School on the Methodology of Legal Comparison at the University of Bologna, which coordinates the LUMEN project. Founded in 2014 by Professor Lucio Pegoraro and directed by Professor Giorgia Pavani, the Summer School will take place in Bologna and in a hybrid format from June 16 to 20, 2025, in Spanish.

The course is organized by the Latin American Studies Center of the University of Bologna, established in 2013 based on the academic expertise of faculty members in Latin American History and Comparative Public Law from the Department of Political and Social Sciences.  Silvia Bagni, coordinator of the LUMEN project, and Giorgia Pavani, a member of the University of Bologna Research Unitare part of the teaching body of the course.

This is the first course entirely dedicated to the methodology of legal comparison, a field of interest for all professional careers targeted by this educational initiative. The program aims to deepen knowledge of specific legal protection mechanisms through the comparative study of legal systems, the definition of models, and their circulation within national and supranational rights protection frameworks.

The course is designed for legal professionals (judges, lawyers, diplomats, and staff from national and local public administrations), PhD or master's students, and professionals from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, covering all areas of public and social policy.

Registration must be completed online via the University of Bologna website by 11:59 PM on June 9, 2025. For more information, please visit the Summer School website or contact sps.centrostudial@unibo.it.
