Prof. Marco Di Felice

Principal Investigator - University of Bologna

Marco Di Felice is Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Bologna. He is the Founder and co-Director of the IoT PRISM Research Laboratory (https://iotprismlab.com/), addressing scientific and industrial research on pervasive and mobile systems. He is faculty member of the the international PhD program in Engineering and Information Technology for Structural and Environmental Monitoring and Risk Management" (EIT4SEMM), and affiliated to the Advanced Research Center on Electronics Systems "Ercole De Castro" (ARCES) of the University of Bologna.  He authored more than 150 scientific papers on IoT, context-aware and wireless and mobile systems.

Prof. Valeria Seidita

Valeria Seidita is assistant professor at the University of Palermo, Italy, and is part of the Robotics Laboratory of the Department of Engineering. Valeria Seidita received her Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Palermo in 2004. In 2008, she obtained her PhD in Computer Science at the same university, and has been an assistant professor at the Department of Engineering in Palermo since December 2011. In 2004 she started her research activity in the robotics laboratory. Her main interest is in the field of software engineering in robotics. She is particularly interested in theories, techniques and practices for the development of complex and intelligent systems with emergent functionalities.

Stefano Borgo is Head of the Laboratory for Applied Ontology (LOA) and manager of the CNR-ISTC center in Trento. He studied mathematics and informatics at the University of Padova (IT), Indiana University (USA), and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (IT). He teaches at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the Politecnico di Milano, and the Politecnico di Bari on AI and Cyber-physical systems. His research focuses on applied ontology and knowledge representation across engineering and socio-technical systems with emphasis on interoperability and model construction. Application areas include engineering design, product and process modelling, robotics, laboratory data, urban planning, and architecture. He co-authored the DOLCE ontology and published about 200 papers in conferences and journals. He has participated in about 35 national and international projects. He is currently member of the Editorial Board of the Applied Ontology journal and of the Semantic Web journal. He is member of the Advisory Board of the International Association on Ontology and its Applications (IAOA) where in the past he served in the Executive Council. He is a technical expert for ISO and IEEE working groups, and for the Italian standardisation institute UNI.

Research Activity: Regenerative medicine and tissue engineering of neuroendocrine and endocrine structures including 3D organoids / assembloids, organs-on-chip, bioartificial human organs, innovative regenerative treatments in endocrine-metabolic disorders; collaborative development and applications of reconstruction and A.I. softwares for biomedical and humanoid robotic applications.
