Imago Musicae is an international peer-reviewed yearbook devoted to the study of musical iconography and the manifold relations between music and the visual arts. It was founded in 1984 under the auspices of Répertoire International d’Iconographie Musicale (RIdIM) and edited for nearly three decades by Tilman Seebass (see his preface to 2010). The current editor-in-chief is Björn R. Tammen. Published by Libreria Musicale Italiana and distributed in libraries all over the world, Imago Musicae is indispensable for musicologists and art historians, but also for ethnomusicologists, archeologists, and cultural historians, among others. Imago Musicae is listed in the European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH-PLUS) and abstracted in the Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM). Starting with vol. 28 (2016), English abstracts are provided for each article.
