The conference will take place at San Giovanni in Monte, a stunning historic complex in the heart of Bologna. With origins dating back to Roman times, the site as it stands today was established in 1543 as a convent for the Canons Regular of the Lateran. After serving various purposes from the Napoleonic era through to 1984, it was restored by the University of Bologna and transformed into a vibrant center for study and academic exchange.

The main sessions will be hosted in the Giorgio Prodi Room (on the left), renowned for its remarkable 16th-century fresco by Bartolomeo Cesi, depicting the royal wedding scene from the Gospel of Matthew.

The parallel workshops on day 1 will be held in a selection of smaller, well-equipped classrooms, ideal for running workshops.

Throughout the conference, participants will have the opportunity not only to engage with the program but also to experience the character of this exceptional venue—enjoying refreshments during breaks while exploring its historic spaces and tranquil surroundings.
