PROJECT

The Uzbekistan higher education (HE) system is moving toward an European model based on the Bologna process; however, it still presents some limitations related to the small number of courses taught in English, the poor connection between teaching and research, teaching programs not aligned with the rapid job market evolution, the incomplete transfer to credit-modular system. Moreover, agriculture is undergoing a modernization process that involves economic and environmentally sustainability, new cultivation like vegetables and fruit trees. The general objective of the project is to prepare new professionals able to respond to the needs of modern agriculture by introducing in the Uzbek HE system upgraded teaching content and innovative teaching methods. The consortium, coordinated by the University of Bologna, includes the University of Rostock, Samarkand State University, Bukhara State University, Urgench State University, Karshi State Techincal University and an Uzbek private organization operating in the agri-food sector.
