O3 European Latin Language Certification Advanced Level: methodological and pedagogical tools, multimedia practical tools
The third project Output consists of elaborating a framework for EULALIA certification regarding an advanced level of competence in Latin; the framework includes:
- Advanced Level Guidelines aim to single out competences and abilities required at an advanced level; they have to specify possible sublevels (B1, B2, etc.), following the model of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- Advanced Level Syllabus: it will be added to the Basic Level syllabus (O1) identifying how many and which morphological and syntactic structures should be known at an advanced competence level.
- Advanced Level Lexicon: this will be added to the Basic Level Lexicon (O1) identifying how many and which Latin words should be known at an advanced competence level: this core vocabulary will be made available on the platform in a multilingual version and will be accompanied by audio tools, which will be particularly useful to students with special needs.
- Advanced Level Exercises: this further collection will complement the collection of exercises for the Basic Level (O2) already available on the platform. This second collection of exercises will help students to prepare for advanced tests, or simply to improve their linguistic competence at the advanced level. Task descriptions will be available in the various languages of the partner institutions and audio files will accompany the exercises in order to make them more accessible to all students and especially to students with special needs.
- Advanced Level tests: they will be added to the Basic Level tests already available on the platform (O1); they will assess the competences required at an Advanced level. Task descriptions are available in the different languages of the partner institutions and audio files accompany tests in order to make them accessible to individuals with special needs.
- Verpot is a software which allows you to check automatically any Latin text in order to verify which words of Eulalia Lexicon it contains. You can use Verpot with texts of any other language, if you upload previously the core lexicon. Verpot is very useful for teachers to easily identify suitable texts for Eulalia certification.
Guidelines, Syllabus and Lexicon will be made available on the EULALIA platform in a multilingual version.
