O2 European Latin Language Certification certification at Basic Level: multimedia practical tools
Once the competences required at the basic level have been established, EULALIA provides the necessary tools to develop and evaluate them; these tools consist of:
Basic level exercises: a collection of exercises is available for learners to prepare for tests, or simply to improve their language competence at the basic level; in addition, a short multilingual handbook offers teachers instructions to produce the exercises themselves. The exercises are mainly monolingual, but captions are provided in the different languages of the partner institutions that created and tested the exercises; the exercises are accompanied by audio files which make them more accessible to all learners and especially to special needs lerners that may be particularly facilitated by the use of the auditory channel (see below).
The exercises also include a version of the basic vocabulary accompanied by audio files, allowing learners to learn the pronunciation of Latin words (see Lexicon tab)
Basic Level Test: EULALIA provides the template for a test designed to assess the competences at a basic level. Like the exercises, the test is mainly monolingual; however, the tasks are available in the different languages of the partner institutions which tested them; the tests are accompanied by audio files which make them more accessible to all learners and especially to special needs lerners who may be particularly facilitated by the use of the auditory channel (see below).
