The University of Bologna (UNIBO), one of Europe’s oldest universities, brings extensive expertise in project coordination, ethical and technical aspects of AI, and interdisciplinary research. UNIBO leads project coordination (WP1) and development of anti-discrimination technologies (WP4), including management, quality assurance, dissemination, and technical solutions for algorithmic fairness.

Università degli Studi di Palermo (UNIPA)

 

The University of Palermo (UNIPA), with recognised strengths in legal and socio-technical research, will contribute its legal expertise and coordinate the development of a practical case study on automated decision-making in asylum procedures.  UNIPA leads legal analysis (WP3) and asylum case study (WP5), including mapping laws, identifying legal gaps, proposing reforms, and developing a prototype for fair asylum decision support.

Università degli Studi di Torino (UNITO)

 

The University of Turin (UNITO), known for its strong tradition in philosophy, law, and technology studies, will lead the theoretical and empirical exploration of algorithmic discrimination. UNITO leads theoretical and empirical analysis of algorithmic unfairness and discrimination (WP2), focusing on interdisciplinary concepts, bias, and accountability.
