UniBO Unit

The Department of Chemistry' G. Ciamician' within the UniBO Unit will promotes the following actions: •Pretreatment of samples for radiocarbon dating in the new BRAVHO laboratory. •The screening of bone samples for collagen searching through the NIR. •Screening of the quality of the collagen with the EA-IRMS. •Investigation of organic matter for the paleoclimatic with the EA-IRMS •Study of the archaeological materials discovered during new fieldworks at key sites in Poland and Hungary and examine the assemblages found during previous excavations. •AMS dating will be commissioned to an external laboratory

Within the project, Prof. Talamo, as P.I. and head of the UniBO team, will supervise the entire project and, in particular, the archaeological excavations, field sampling and laboratory analyses, isotopic analyses, creation and interpretation of Bayesian models.

The cross-comparison of the results of palaeoenvironmental, geochronological and archaeological studies, and agent-based modelling as well as the Interpretation of the results of the human-environment interaction in Central Europe during the Middle Palaeolithic.

Furthermore, she will supervise the editing of scientific publications generated from the data obtained.
