Consortium

The DoTPOWER project involves four research units from two Italian academic institutions: the University of Bologna and the University of Florence. The consortium brings together expertise in the fields of structural design, manufacturing technologies, and metallurgy.

The activities focus on advancing the 3D printing technology known as Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), used for the production of high-efficiency steel lattice structures intended for the construction sector.

The University of Bologna contributes advanced expertise in structural design, mechanical and microstructural characterization of materials, and geomatics, supporting activities such as digital modelling, mechanical testing, fractographic analysis, and 3D geometric acquisition.

The University of Florence specializes in the simulation, optimization, and monitoring of the WAAM process, and is responsible for the fabrication of printed samples and the demonstration phase.

Through the collaboration between these institutions, the project aims to develop advanced digital models of the process-to-product workflow and to promote the adoption of WAAM technology in industrial-scale additive manufacturing.
