SISP Conference (Trieste, 2024) - Francesca Fortarezza presenting her research on the Balkan Route
Drawing on ethnographic research conducted between 2020 and 2023 along the so-called Balkan route of migration, Fortarezza's research employs participant observation, qualitative interviews, and document analysis to highlight the convergence of neoliberalist and securitarian modes of government of migratory flows.
