Aims

DeepMilk aims to develop a bulk milk monitoring method, combining routine techniques with the most advanced technologies, and integrating:

• milk phenotypes analysis that indicate the health status of the animal and determine the goodness for cheesemaking and other nutritional properties;
• genomic information for the traceability, genetic variability and conservation status of the breed;

The objective is to identify an approach that can be implemented, with little effort on the farm, both for relatively small native breeds, such as the Reggiana breed, and for cosmopolitan breeds such as the Italian Holstein, which will be both case studies of the project.
