The Applied Aerodynamics Lab

The laboratories in Forlì hosts the machineries and instruments required not only for production and manufacturing of mechanical components in metal and composites, but also for research and teaching activities in the field of aerodynamics and fluid dynamics.

The Resources

The resources availables in the laboratory are the following:

• Open loop wind tunnel: The tunnel is 30 meters long with a rectangular test-section 1800x600x800 mm and a flow velocity from 0 to 50 m/s (180 Km/h)
• Closed loop wind tunnel: The tunnel has a rectangular closed test-section, operating at ambient pressure, 1200X400X600 mm and a flow velocity from 0 to 60 m/s (210 Km/h)
• Oleodynamic press: italsigma 100kN. Static and fatigue traction, compression and bending tests. Machineries can be custom-made to meet specific requirements.
• Microscopic optics lab: analysis with microsope Nikon optiphoto 100
• Bending tests rotating machine: Italsigma 2TM 831
• Mill machine CNC
