The Pro.Dono (Alma Idea 2022) project is being undertaken by the Department of Sociology and Economic Law and the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences at the University of Bologna in the context of the cross-cutting themes of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, and specifically in the interconnection between the area of Health and the area of Humanistic Culture, Creativity, Social Transformation and Inclusion Society. The project is aimed at studying and understanding the propensities and obstacles in a specific population cohort (students and residents) regarding post-mortem body donation. Specifically, the topic of the donation of the body and its own tissues to science, declined as scientific research and medical education, is proposed. However, alongside the aspect of theoretical knowledge, the research is also characterized by the pursuit of a concrete purpose: the participatory construction of a “Questionnaire for assessing knowledge, propensities and obstacles regarding body donation for scientific purposes.” Indeed, body donation represents the gold standard for medical education at all levels, constituting, among other things, the fundamental starting point for scientific research in the biomedical field.
