University of Mosul

The University of Mosul is a public university located in Mosul. It is one of the largest educational and research centers in the Middle East, and the second largest in Iraq, behind the University of BaghdadThe University of Mosul was founded in April 1967, building on the foundations of the 1929 College of Medicine, under the control of the Ministry of Health. The university was established to be an academic center of higher education in Mosul city and Iraq. Today the University offers accredited Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees in more than 100 scientific specializations. More than 80,000 students have graduated since the foundation of the University.

Khalid Salim Ismael. is Professor of Akkadian Language and Cuneiform Inscriptions at the Department of Ancient Iraqi Languages, College of Archaeology, University of Mosul. He hold an MA degree in Ancient Archaeology, University of Baghdad (1990), he participated to the excavation expedition to Sippar (1991-1997). Between 1992 and 1997 he was supervisor of the Museum of the Department of Archaeology, University of Baghdad. Since 1992 he teaches Sumerian and Akkadian Languages at the BA , MA and PhD courses of the University of Baghdad and from 2003 to 2009 at University of Mosul. He is Head of the Cuneiform Studies Department, College of Arts, University Mosul and Chairman of the Expert Committee of the Colleges of Archaeology in Iraq,since 2018. He is also member of the Archaeology Curriculum Development Committee, Ministry of Higher Education, (2019-2020) and Editor-in-Chief of Athar Al-Rafedain Journal, College of Archaeology, University of  Mosul.

 Yasmin Abdulkareem Mohammed Ali is Dean of the College  of Archeology  at the University of Mosul since 2019. She is also Assistant Professor of Archeology and Ancient Arts in the Department of Archeology - College of Archeology of the University of Mosul. She received a PhD in Archaeology  at the Department of Archaeology, Mosul University (2011), an MA in Archaeology, Department of Archaeology, Baghdad University (2004) and a BA in Archaeology of Mesopotamia and the Ancient Near East, Department of Archaeology, Baghdad University, 2000. He academic appointments include Teaching in the Department of Archeology - College of Arts / University of Mosul  (2005-2008), teaching in the Department of Archeology - College of Archeology / University of Mosul since 2008, Head of the Department of Archeology - College of Archeology at the University of Mosul  (2016-2018).

She is also member of the Editorial Board of Athar Al-Rafidain Magazine,college of Archeology - University of Mosul and member of the Committee for Curriculum Development in the Ministry of Higher Education for the year 2018.

Muneer Salim Al-Badrany is the Vice chancellor for scientific Effort for the University of Mosul. Prof. Muneer hold a Ph.D degree  in Veterinary Medicine. Prof. Muneer  was appointed as the dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine (2018-2019) and Assistant dean of the College  of Veterinary Medicine  (2006-2013) and ( 2017-August, 2018). He also served as Head of Iraqi Veterinary Medical Association/Nineveh  (2003-2018), and member of Crisis Cell Committee (Covid-19) in the University of Mosul . He is The founding member of the official Union of Arab Academics. He is member of Iraqi Veterinary Medical Association (1985-Present) Life member Indian Veterinary Surgery, Member in World Veterinary Association (WVA), Valued Member, American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD), Chief Editor of Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences,  (2018- Present). Editor Secretory of Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences, December (2012- 2018). Prof. Muneer has 54 published articles in both international and local journals. He supervised 8 M.Sc.,  Diploma. And attend about 27 International and local conferences. Dr. Muneer is considered one of the distinguished professors in the field of Veterinary Medicine at the country level and in the field of higher education in Iraq.

Rawaa Qasha received BSc. and MSc. in Computer Science from University of Mosul (UoM) in 1997 and 2000 respectively. In 2000, she started working as a lecturer and researcher in Computer Science at College of Computer Science and Mathematics at UoM. She received a PhD in Computing Science from Newcastle University,  School of Computing in 2017. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics as well as the Director of the department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at University of Mosul. She was also a visiting lecturer at Newcastle University from 2018 to 2021 and currently she is a visiting researcher at Newcastle University, School of Computing.
