Winter School Venue

The new Navile University Campus hosts the teaching and research activities of four Alma Mater departments, with a new district library, 29 classrooms, 4 computer rooms, 14 study rooms, as well as teaching and research laboratories. With an extension of approximately 68,000 square meters of built area and over 52,000 square meters of outdoor areas, it hosts 3,700 students and about 500 teachers and technical-administrative staff.

The new university campus set up along the Navile canal hosts the teaching and research activities of the departments of Industrial Chemistry "Toso Montanari", Chemistry "Giacomo Ciamician", Pharmacy and Biotechnology and the Astronomy Section of the Department of Physics and Astronomy " Augusto Righi ”, together with various offices of the Alma Mater Central Administration, the Bologna Observatory of Astrophysics and Space Science of INAF and the Headquarters of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO).

Next to the new Campus extends the complex that houses 7 institutes of the National Research Council (CNR), the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), the technopole of Bologna and the congress center which together represent one of the largest scientific centers in Italy and Europe.

Transportation

From Bologna City Centre and Train Station

Campus Navile is connected to the city centre and the main Train Station of Bologna by public transport. The lines which connect the city centre are the following:

  • Line 87: Stop "Rotonda CNR" (entrance Gobetti)
  • Line 37: Stop "Rotonda CNR" (entrance Gobetti)
  • Line 30: Stop "Beverara" (entrance Beverara)

 

From Bologna Airport "Guglielmo Marconi"

Bologna international airport "Guglielmo Marconi" is 6 km away from the city centre and it is connected to the main Train Station by the people mover "Marconi Express" (https://www.marconiexpress.it/en/). The people mover connect the airport and the Train Station in 7 minutes. In alternative it is possible to take a taxi reaching the city centre in 20 minutes.

Social Dinner Venue

the social dinner will be in an ancient church in the Bologna historical centre built in 1520 and now transformed into a location for events.
