IT.A.CÀ migrants and travelers: the Festival of responsible tourism 2020

Awarded by the World Tourism Organization for excellence and innovation in tourism, IT.A.CÀ is the first and only festival in Italy on responsible tourism that invites you to discover places and cultures through walking and cycling routes, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, documentaries, books and tastings. The goal is to launch an idea of tourism that is more ethical and respectful of the environment and of those who live there, combining the sustainability of tourism with the well-being of citizens.

The Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, by virtue of its distinctive Multicampus structure and the role it plays within the territorial dynamics, will participate in the twelfth edition of IT.A.CÀ: Festival of Responsible Tourism, to be held from May 22nd to June 7th, 2020, in Bologna and in the territories of the Bolognese Apennines, to contribute to a program of events that aim to stimulate the debate on the culture of sustainability and intercultural dialogue.

The theme proposed by the Festival for 2020 is Bio-diversity, understood as the variety of living organisms within ecosystems; new production processes, new forms of sociality; enhancement of the relationships between subjectivity and different cultures, relationships between different types of knowledge and expression; linguistic and cultural pluralism; legitimation of knowledge and practices not linked to a single and dominant thought; an expression of resistance, resilience and restrictions that regenerate and preserve changing communities; link between places, people and communities that define each other in a mutual relationship.

IT.A.CÀ invites the university community to propose initiatives (debates, screenings, workshops, exhibitions, etc.) in the field of tourism, promotion of the territory, development of local resources, social innovation, interculture, mobility, quality of life, public spaces, food and hospitality.

Proposals must be submitted by January 20th, 2020, by completing the online form: Unibo Call Form-IT.A.CÀ 2020

Participation in the festival is also aimed at creating collaborations with the rich network of IT.A.CÀ Bologna, composed of numerous companies that work in the field of culture, sustainability and local development.
