Medical examinations

How we protect your health to prevent occupational diseases.

Every activity, environment, tool, substance and material you use while studying or working at the University is analysed to identify and assess health hazards and risk factors.

That is how we measure risk and classify it into different levels. This analysis is recorded in the Risk Assessment Document (Documento di Valutazione dei Rischi, DVR), which establishes who must be subject to health surveillance, i.e. the set of medical measures to be taken depending on your job and the risks present in a certain work setting.

This means that not everyone is required to undergo medical examinations – it depends on what is stated in the DVR.

Health surveillance aims to protect the health of those who are exposed to risks while carrying out their tasks and can involve the entire University community.
Depending on the risk factor and on the study or work activity to be carried out, a physician will assess your health and fitness.
