The University of Bologna coordinates the project through Alma Climate (Alma Mater Research Institute on Global Challenges and Climate Change), an interdisciplinary hub dedicated to environmental and climate challenges in line with the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement. Two main groups participate in the project: DISTAL (Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences), with experts in agronomy and sustainable production systems, involved in studying low-impact supply chains, biodiversity, and the valorization of medicinal plant species; and DISI (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), specialized in IoT technologies, data analysis, and blockchain integration, with experience in international agritech projects. Together, they contribute to the agronomic, technological, and advanced monitoring components of the TRACE project.

Agricultural cooperative founded in 2005 to produce bioenergy from biomass. In 2018, it entered the medicinal and aromatic plant (MAP) sector by establishing its first experimental fields and launching a new supply chain dedicated to the cultivation and processing of MAPs. The cooperative has a facility for drying, processing, and storing herbs, equipped with 10 thermo-ventilated drying ovens powered by renewable energy (thermal and electrical) co-generated by an on-site biogas plant.

Cons. a r.l., is organized to combine agricultural training with the dissemination of research and experimental results, thanks to the long-standing experience of its staff in this field and the support of dedicated multimedia tools.
