What is this?

Environment-related risks

Field work entails the possible presence of various cross-cutting risks related to the environment, the use of equipment and the peculiarities of each research activity. Hence, teaching activities and/or the work carried out by individual research groups outdoor should be examined in order to identify the criticalities and risks to which workers and the like may be exposed.

Applicable regulations

Teaching and research carried out outside of the University premises are regarded as laboratory activities under Ministerial Decree 363/98. Workers’ protection falls within the scope of Legislative Decree 81/08.

Where can it occur?

Environments at risk

‘Field work’ refers to all research carried out outdoor, in a natural or anthropic environment. It includes activities such as archaeological excavations, study campaigns in the geological, marine or natural field, tasks performed in crop fields, study of engineering infrastructure.
