RU1 - Bologna

Activity

The first step of the research activity will include analysis of those texts of contemporary Italian literature in which the urban landscape plays a decisive role . The focus will be on urban walks codified in contemporary novels and short stories - from the early twentieth century to today - set in Bologna. The research will lead to the creation of a new map of Bologna, characterized at the same time by itineraries narrated by authors who are already part of the national literary canon and by itineraries told by young contemporary authors, showing continuity and differences.

These itineraries will subsequently function as a model for the planning of narrative workshops that will be created in collaboration with the writer Wu Ming 2. Open to all citizens, the walking writing workshops will allow an immersive look to observe the city from new perspectives and, integrating the practice of walking with textual writing will give the possibility of establishing new relationships with urban space, giving new meaning to streets, places and itineraries.
