AlmaVFarm is an experimental, demonstrative and educational vertical farm, located at the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences (DISTAL) of the University of Bologna.
- Here, only artificial light is supplied to plants, through the use of dimmable LED lights produced by Flytech srl. Accordingly, red, blue, green, white and far-red wavelengths can be supplied to cultivated plants, also enabling for the regulation of intensity and photoperiod based on plants and research requirements.
- Inside the vertical farm, completely insulated, all environmental parameters (CO2, temperature, humidity) can be monitored and regulated.
- Up to 81 cultivation trays between hydroponic, aeroponic and nursery systems are present, over 58 m2 of fully-controlled plant production area.
