UNICittà IN VIAGGIO. Past and present glimpses into the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines

A virtual itinerary on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines based on the testimonies of foreign travelers of the past and present, to rediscover our natural heritage from an inclusive perspective.

UNICittà IN VIAGGIO. Sguardi di ieri e di oggi sull’Appennino tosco-emiliano
  • Date: 18 JUNE 2021  from 17:00 to 18:30

  • Event location: Teams - Streaming on YouTube & Facebook

We will show a virtual map through which we will retrace the footsteps of English, French, Spanish and Russian writers, intellectuals, and scientists, who traveled on horseback and by carriage between Bologna and Florence, along the itinerary of the famous Grand Tour.

Our map is enriched with the testimonies that these travelers have left on the Apennines. From their words emerge descriptions of a slow journey, of a moment of pause and reflection between the memories of the city that one has left behind and the future projects in the city that will be visited. These reflection arouse while they are immersed within a wild, inaccessible and fascinating nature.

It is the Via degli Dei that these travelers describe, an itinerary which has been rediscovered by nature guides, hikers and the slow travelers of today. And today, as then, this path takes us out of the city, to the discovery of silent paths and that breath rythm that marks the slow and inexorable flow of life.
