Murubutu: Litterary Genres and Urban Studies

A conversation with the artist on his album 'La vita segreta delle città'

  • Date: 02 APRIL 2025  from 20:00 to 21:30

  • Event location: Aula III, Via Zamboni 38

  • Type: Round Tables

On March 7, Murubutu released 'La vita segreta delle città', his latest concept album.

This work further enriches the artist’s poetic and storytelling-driven rap style, offering a deep reflection on urban environments. As a conscious flâneur, Murubutu moves between metropolises and small towns, dreams and disillusionment, using storytelling to reveal the hidden nuances of urban transformations.

Drawing on this dual approach—original literary production and critical urban analysis—Murubutu presents his new album at the University. In dialogue with the artist, several faculty members will offer interpretative insights, followed by Murubutu’s response and a selection of live musical readings from the album.

Speakers:

  • Giuliana Benvenuti, University of Bologna, Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies
  • Niccolò Cuppini, University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland
  • Murubutu, Rapper and songwriter
  • Anna Scalfaro, University of Bologna, Department of Arts

At the end of the discussion, Murubutu will give a short live performance featuring musical readings from his album.
