SMART-ER!’s mission was put into practice through an initiative carried out in Class 3T at the Liceo Scientifico Augusto Righi in Bologna. Under the supervision of Dr Ferri, the class worked on the topic of territorial resilience in the face of hydrogeological risk, applying it to the paradigm of "education, inclusion and social justice". The class, divided into groups, took part in an 8-hour workshop with Dr Ferri, between November 2025 and February 2026.
The class also worked separately to produce a short video on the 2024 flood. The video illustrates the direct link between local resilience and local communities. The project was presented at the competition on 30 March 2026, held at DamsLab, and won third place. For further information: https://www.unibo.it/it/eventi/evento/labo2030-engage-design-debate
