Research

WP and deliverables. Project articulation and research plan.

This project aims to answer the research questions using interdisciplinary methods from different disciplines:

  1. Constitutional and parliamentary law: to create a robust theoretical constitutional and parliamentary framework that makes machine-consumable law legally sustainable while preserving the core meaning of democratic and “rule of law” principles;
  2. Philosophy of law: to correctly include interpretation and epistemic elements and to investigate the classification of legal concepts, to create a correct relationship between natural language and the coding of law beyond the language;
  3. Legal informatics and formal logic: to represent the norms considering the defensibility logic and temporal legal reasoning to model legal rules using Akoma Ntoso and LegalRuleML standards for a better interoperability between different scholars.
  4. Computer science: to use the best technologies of AI & Law, LegalXML standards, legal design, data analytics, neural networks, smart contract, visualization and usability.

For this reason, the project uses a matrix model between 4 WPs and clustering groups of competences where each research question is investigated through the lens of different disciplines and correspondent foundations and methodologies. Considering the background of the PI, she can direct the work of this project and to valorise the peculiarity of each unit. Each WP has a senior professor expert in the specific main topic as leader.
