On derived categories and motivic classes of projective varieties

Abstract: In this talk, I will address the derived invariance problem: how much of the geometry of a smooth projective variety is encoded by its derived category? After an overview on the (conjectural) relation among derived categories and motivic classes of varieties, I will discuss a recent joint work with L. Lombardi and G. Pareschi, where we looked at the role of the Albanese maps in this framework.
