Main research activities/topics/projects

We offer several opportunities to join one of our laboratories under the supervision of expert staff members. We cover virtually all areas of psychological research offering many diverse research and training opportunities. Brazilian PhD students while in Padova will be offered the possibility to benefit from the same training opportunities organized for PhD students enrolled in our program.

Brazilian PhD student are welcome to join the following project areas:

  • Prof. Peter K. Jonason, email: peterkarl.jonason@unipd.it  Project area: Adaptive Individual Differences in Romantic, Sexual, and Social Strategies.
  • Prof. Barbara Carretti, email: barbara.carretti@unipd.it  Memory and Learning Lab  Project area: Memory, learning, intelligence, motivation, individual and age-related differences.
  • Prof. Giovanna Mioni, email: giovanna.mioni@unipd.it   TI.ME. lab. (hosts a variety of research projects which mainly focus on exploring time perception and memory-attentional processes). Ongoing project areas include the effect of emotion on time processing using physiological measures. Non-invasive brain stimulation techniques in the study of time processing, in particular electric stimulation. The contribution of temporal abilities in time-based prospective memory.
  • Prof. Lucia Regolin & Prof. Rosa Rugani. Comparative Cognition lab  Project area: Animal psychology, animal behaviour and animal cognition. Lucia Regolin contact details are below; Rosa Rugani: rosa.rugani@unipd.it     This particular area suits very well also students from Biology, Natural Sciences and Vet.

 Working language

Working language is in any case English, knowledge of Italian is welcome but not necessary for working reasons.

Special entry requirements

Students are required to have research interests and some background theoretical knowledge relevant to the specific area of the project they wished to join.
