Department

Department of Agrifood, Environmental and Animal Sciences at University of Udine

Main research activities/topics/projects

The main research area regards the study of protein kinases and the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulated by these enzymes that are frequently altered in several human and veterinary pathologies. Research activities focus on the biochemical and cellular characterization of different kinases, in particular protein kinase CK1 and CK2, the definition of their structure- function relationships and the analysis of their signaling pathways in normal and pathological cell models. New compounds targeting protein kinases are being identified, developed and characterized  as potential drugs for therapeutic treatments.
