The main research activities employ both cellular models and living organisms (i.e. drosophila and c. elegans) to study the mechanisms of neurodegeneration that characterize the onset and progression of the neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. In these experimental models, neuroprotective effects of synthetic and natural drugs, including nutraceuticals, are also evaluated.
