Ultrafast optical spectroscopy and imaging

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

Master students involved in the final research, PhD sandwich, Post Doc

Department

Physics Department, Politecnico of Milano

Main research activities/topics/projects

The visiting researcher will participate in the activities of development and application of new super-resolution ultrafast imaging techniques within the context of the recently funded European project HOLOFAST, headed by Dr. Camargo. In this project, we are aiming to implement the nonlinear structured illumination approach to obtain super-resolution (<100 nm) in femtosecond optical microscopy, which will then be applied to study the interplay between morphology and ultrafast photophysical processes in nanostructured materials, such as bulk-heterojunctions in organic photovoltaics. The visiting researcher will also have access to more standard ultrafast techniques, such as femtosecond transient absorption and two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy.
