Main research activities/topics/projects

 Research in mathematical analysis, in particular Cauchy problem for partial differential equations of evolution type with coefficients depending on time and space. The student will address questions of existence and uniqueness of the solution, regularity of the solution and propagation of its singularities. The main tools for this kind of research are Fourier transforms and pseudodifferential operators. The working language could be either Italian or English.

 The research activity will be carried out within the Mathematical Analysis group at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Ferrara, partner of the joint PHD program in Mathematics (with administrative headquarter University of Modena and Reggio Emilia)
