Main research activities/topics/projects

The laboratory activity is centered on the study of the properties of Surfaces, 2D Materials and Atomic Clusters Physics, in close collaboration with scientists from Elettra the synchrotron light source which is close to the University. The nmLAB is associated to NQSTI, the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute funded by the PNRR. Since 2000 more than 80 students have carried out experimental work at the Nanoscale Materials Laboratory in preparation of their Master's degree thesis in Physics, as well as in the framework of the PhD programs.

Special entry requirements

Basics of quantum mechanics, Mechanical Statistics. Attitude to work in a team/laboratory. The knowledge of technology of Vacuum would be an advantage.
