Peptides and Peptide Nucleic Acids for biological and bio-technological applications.

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

Master students involved in the final research, PhD sandwich, Post Doc

Department

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences,  University of Milano

Main research activities/topics/projects

The research is focused on:

 1)   Development of biomaterials exploiting peptides, Peptide Nucleic Acids (PNAs) and peptide-PNA conjugates self-assembly. Students will work at the synthesis of the molecules, the study of the self-assembling conditions and the characterization of the assembled object by spectroscopy and microscopy.

 2)   Antimicrobial peptides: chemical synthesis and study of the mechanism of action by spectroscopic techniques.
