Main research activities/topics/projects

The research concerns the study of novel soft materials for both optical and energy storage applications. It focuses on the newly discovered ferroelectric nematic liquid crystal phase (dated 2020) and on the polar coupling of these materials to electric fields and light. Several unexpected effects have already been observed and many others are foreseen.
