Mobility experience with a research focus
Master students involved in the final research; PhD sandwich; Post Doc
Department of Physics and Astronomy
The proposed projects can be summarized onto the below main research lines:
1) analysis of biomedical multi-omics and imaging data for personalized medicine, patient stratification and identification of key processes in oncology;
2) application of artificial intelligence and network-based techniques for the analysis of protein sequences in viruses and bacteria, in relation to immune escape and Antimicrobial resistance – “from geno to pheno”;
3) statistical analysis of genetic sequences and epigenetic data (e.g. DNA methylation, open chromatin, histone functionalization) to identify patterns in relation to DNA structure – “from 1d to 3d”.
Research activity on these topics can be retrieved from Prof. Daniel Remondini Bologna website or Google Scholar.
The working language will be English, the knowledge of Italian language is not mandatory.
Candidates for these projects must have an interdisciplinary background in Applied Physics.
Programming skills (eg Python, R, Matlab) and a statistical and/or mathematical background, particularly on data analysis and stochastic processes, is appreciated.
