Medicinal Chemistry, Development of novel bioactive compounds

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

    PhD sandwich; Post Doc

Department

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Milan

Main research activities/topics/projects

We develop innovative chemical tools to fight cancer and other unmet medical needs. Our Team has a consolidated experience in the design, synthesis and SAR study of covalent and non-covalent enzymatic inhibitors, exploiting target-based approaches. Our research activities are currently focused on the development of reversible and covalent inhibitors targeting protein kinases as novel anticancer agents, with particular focus on pancreatic cancer. In addition, we are investigating nature-inspired covalent inhibitors targeting parasitic enzymes for the development of novel agents to fight malaria and other protozoan infectious diseases.
