Imaging detectors, associated electronics and application

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

Master students involved in the final research, PhD sandwich, Post Doc

Department

DEIB, Politecnico of Milan

Main research activities/topics/projects

The activity we carry out in the Imaging Radiation Detectors Lab at Politecnico di Milano is related to the development of semiconductor radiation detectors for diverse field of application and of the related frontend electronics, till the final system.

We collaborate with different research groups both in Italy and in Europe.

Different possibilities are available for the Brasilian candidates who will join our lab. As three possible examples, at present, these research activities are active and open to the CONFAP candidates: i) development of SiC-based detection systems for radioactive ion beams, having application both in nuclear physics experiments and in radiotherapy; ii) development of Germanium Detectors, based on the drift concept for high-rate, high-resolution spectroscopy; iii) calibration of high-frame rate, high resolution imaging cameras for the European XFEL.

Working language can be either Italian or English at the candidate choice, except for activities in collaboration with foreign partners, in which English is mandatory. For more info and details an informative call before application is possible.
