Main research activities/topics/projects

- Green synthesis and catalysis: synthesis of transition metal-based catalysts and study of reactions with green methods (microwave, ultrasound)
- Nanomaterials synthesis for environmental applications:
preparation of nanomaterials for photocatalytic degradation of contaminants and adsorption of heavy metals
- Composite and hybrid materials: synthesis of functional polymers, both inorganic and organic, and polymer composites for energy and health application
- Bioinorganic chemistry: synthesis and characterization of metal-based compounds for anticancer applications
The group hosts both international and Italian students so the main working languages are English and Italian.

Special entry requirements

Lab experience in chemical synthesis, also in inert atmosphere (i.e., glovebox or Schlenk line), and materials characterization (spectroscopies, thermal analysis, etc.)
